Event Rules

1. The software used for modeling shall be Solid Edge. 2. Round One will be judged on the basis of accuracy, following proper engineering drawing practices, and the ability to incorporate the changes made. 3. Participants will be given 15 minutes to examine the problem statement, during which they are allowed to use the instruments provided to measure the required lengths and angles. 4. The judges shall be provided with standard measurement values on the basis of which the final models of the participants shall be compared. Their decision shall be deemed final. 5. Each of the two design modifications given would carry individual points, the value of which would be announced along with the design modification. 6. The duration of the first round shall be announced prior to the start of the competition based on the complexity of the model to be designed. 7. Basic knowledge of how to use measuring instruments is expected. 8. Requests to view the model after the allotted time duration shall not be encouraged. 9. Round 2 will be solely judged on the basis of the participant’s critical thinking process and their ability to determine a solution with the design within the given time constraints. 10. No time extensions will be encouraged. 11.Participants must compete individually.
