Nowadays, trading stock has become an extremely important skill. This will be a Stock-Market simulation event. Students will be working on large data sets to analyze the stocks and values corresponding to its frequency and predict the rise and fall of the prices of the stock with respect to time. For beginners, this will be a chance to have hands-on experience and learn more about this field in a competitive environment.
Event Overview
Design Specification:
1. This is a solo event.
2. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops. If not, college systems will be provided.
Source code theft will not be tolerated.
3. Any malpractice on the virtual machine leads to disqualification.
Rules:
1. This is strictly a simulation.
2. The participant has to install and use only the simulator application which is recommended on the spot.
3. Unethical behaviour could lead to disqualification. Faculty-coordinators have all the rights to take final decision for any matter during the event.
4. Judge’s decision will be considered final.
Round Specification:
1. As engineering students, it is crucial that we know the basics of the stock market and how it works.
2. This will be 1 round event where we simulate the tech stock market with companies that duplicate the real-life stock prices and participants can buy, sell, or trade stocks.
3. Each participant will have the same amount of money to begin with.
4. Based on the participant’s analytic strategy, player selects the best possible prediction algorithm(might be custom or predefined) to increase the base money.
5. The participants will build a portfolio on the Virtual Stock Exchange and react to the markets in real time.
6. They will complete with their fellow participants to earn their spot at the top of the leader board.
7. Time given is 3hrs.
8. At the end of the event, the person with the highest net worth will be the winner.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Basic knowledge of stock market working is required.
2. Students from any branch can participate.
3. Each student should come with their valid college ID card.
