HAMMER’D is a design and sheet metal modelling event. Teams will be briefed on the design requirements of the client. This may include dimension, utility and a need to stand out. Based on the client requirements the team is required to design a product that would best fit the brief.

Event Overview

Round 1: Qualifier Round
1. Each team will be given One Hour to brainstorm and come up with a design that would best fit the client’s demand.
2. The teams must then pitch their ideas and explain as to how their design stands out. The teams can adopt any means to pitch their ideas which may not be limited to posters or PPTs.
3. The presentation must however include a neat part drawing either on paper or any software of choice. The teams will be judged based on clarity of proposal, innovative design and presentation skills.


Round 2: PROJECT BUILD
1. The Teams that qualify will be required to fabricate their design using GI Sheet metal.
2. The raw materials and tools required will be provided at the venue. The teams have 2 hours to complete their build.
3. Judging for this round will be based on adherence to part drawing, finish and safety precautions followed.
4. The team with the highest cumulative score at the end of two rounds will be declared the winners.


Rules and Regulations:
1. Teams are required to carry their own laptop to prepare their presentations or posters. Teams deciding not to use a laptop shall be provided with a board to present their ideas.
2. It is mandatory to prepare a 2D drawing of the envisioned product with dimensions. Participants may decide to either use any software (licensed versions compulsorily) which will not be provided by the organisers or use a paper and manually create the part drawing.
3. Round One shall be judged on soundness of idea, presentations skills and executability.
4. The raw materials and equipment required to fabricate the product shall be provided on site. Participants are required to have basic knowledge of sheet metal operations. A training workshop shall be conducted prior to the event.
5. Participants are required to obey the rules of the workshop and follow the safety guidelines. Lab staff are entitled to disqualify a team for not following these guidelines.

Eligibility (Team requirement):
1. This is a team event.
2. A team can have a maximum of 4 participants and a minimum of 2.
3. The event shall have two rounds
4. All the members in a team must be from the same college.
5. Each member must have his/her college identity card.

Cash rewards for winners:
First: ₹7,500
